Early Season: Mid-November-December
The Snowbird ski season usually starts Mid-November, and the slopes are generally quiet until the holiday season. You can usually find deals on ski lifts and lodging when the resorts first open. If you are interested in planning your ski season in conjunction with the holidays, you will have a wealth of special events and activities available for your family.
Deep Powder Skiing: January & February
Historically January and February offer the best conditions for skiing overall. The cold weather and abundant snowfall mean the base has plenty of time to settle with well-developed bases with deep powder. That being said, this is also one of the busiest times at our ski resorts, and no deals are usually available. We encourage you to book a mid-week stay if you want to avoid the crowds.
Spring Skiing: March-May
Spring at Alta-Snowbird is an excellent time to plan your ski vacation. The weather is warmer, the slopes are quiet, and fantastic deals are available! Spring brings a new snow texture that is also more forgiving for skiers who want to learn the sport for the first time, making it an excellent time for families. Lift tickets are typically 10% cheaper on the weekends and 20% cheaper during the week. After a day on the slopes, enjoy the sunshine with apres activities like live music, dining, and drinks.
