Hiking

Explore eight scenic hiking trails winding through Little Cottonwood Canyon. One of the most popular routes is the Cecret Lake Trail, a two-mile loop showcasing the region’s local flora and fauna. Even more exploration opportunities are available along Catherine’s Pass, Bell Canyon, Red Pine Lake, and White Pine Lake trails. 

Picnicking 

Pack some snacks and plan a picnic in Little Cottonwood Canyon! Even though there are no designated picnic areas in the canyon, plenty of sections along the Temple Quarry Nature Trail are great for picnicking.

Fishing

Cast your line for some catch-and-release fishing in Little Cottonwood Canyon. Hike along the Catherine Pass trailhead and access alpine fishing at Lake Mary, Lake Martha, or Lake Catherine. Or head to the Little Cottonwood Canyon River and target brook, cutthroat, and rainbow trout. Make sure to purchase a Utah fishing license before your outing. 

Rock Climbing

The Wasatch Wildflower Festival is an annual event hosted by the Cottonwood Canyons Foundation that celebrates wildflowers in Utah.
